We mainly manufacture hard chrome-plated bars that are smooth, sandblasted, profiled or with Mayer wire wound.

OUR HISTORY

For 70 years,
Stad has been developing its expertise.

from 1939 to 1949

January 1939 :
Lucien Lefevere established a workshop in Roubaix for peeling, turning, and polishing manganese-silicon steels for the manufacture of high-quality springs. The name was given: STAD (Société de Tournage d’Aciers Durs).

1940-1944 :
The company ceased operations, resuming operations in 1945 in new premises in Roubaix.

from 1950 to 1969

1952 :
A new generation arrived, diversifying the customer portfolio, which until then consisted mainly of spring manufacturers, with manufacturers of various equipment using turned shafts. Customer demand and requirements quickly steered the company toward precision, straightness, and surface finish, activities that required the purchase of a first grinding machine, and then a straightening machine.

1964 :
STAD becomes a limited liability company (SARL)

1968 :
STAD becomes a public limited company (SA). The premises become too small to install additional machine.

1969 :
Relocation and construction of a building located in the Martinoire Industrial Zone in Wattrelos.

from 1970 to 1989

1976 :
The SARL REVEL is founded. The name REVEL is a contraction of Revêtement Electrolytiques (Electrolytic Coatings). Chrome plating activity begins: a hard chrome plating facility completes the equipment to produce chrome-plated steels. The development of chrome plating requires the construction of a fully adapted workshop in 1982.

from 1990 to 2021

1990 - 2021 :
Mr. Dupire takes over and develops the company.

since 2021

2021 :
Cédric TUR and a partner take over the company.

2022 :
Installation of a new hydraulic press to complement our straightening services. 

2023 :
Installation of a new 5m capacity polishing lathe and a new CNC lathe to perform finishing steps for our customers.

2024 :
Expanding the grinding range from Ø 2mm to Ø 160mm.

2025 :

Installation of a new automatic cutting machine from Ø 15mm to Ø 260mm to ensure the rapid and precise cutting of customer products in large volumes.

October 2025: reconstruction of the website with the creation of an online store to sell our steel short cut

Projet 2026 :
Installation of a new high-capacity grinding machine to produce diameters up to 200mm.
